
Since starting college with the intent of being a teacher or pediatrician, Jim has spent his career focused on the formation, care, and empowerment of young adults.

He was named a Division III All-American Offensive Lineman and Academic All-American, was a two-time All-Conference Lineman and a five-time All-Conference Track Athlete in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, held his college's discus record for over 25 years, and was inducted into his college's athletic Hall of Fame.
And all that said, Jim is quick to admit that he also has many flaws, has made many mistakes, and has much work to do to keep good mental health.
He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, and is lucky to have his college and post-college daughters living in the same city.
